James M. Creedon

James M. Creedon of New Canaan, CT passed away March 2, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Creedon came to New Canaan in 1947 with his late parents, Herbert T. Creedon and Catherine M. Creedon, and his brothers. He attended local schools and graduated from N.C.H.S. in 1956, He was an Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 45.
He graduated from Colgate University in 1960 and afterwards obtained an M. B. A . from New York University. Mr. Creedon served in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and ended his service with the rank of Sergeant.
During his business career he held various posts, including Investment Analyst, Trader, and Portfolio Manager with institutions including AXA Equitable and Citicorp; a brokerage firm, and money managers.
Jim was for years a member of the Darien Power Squadron, achieving “Navigator” status and serving as Public Relations and Educational Officer. He was a communicant at St, Aloysius Church,and served a term on the Parish Finance Committee.
Since retiring he has volunteered at the New Canaan Library, visited with war veterans, and other seniors.
Mr. Creedon is survived by three brothers: H. T. Creedon, jr. of Milford, CT; Lawrence J. Creedon of Cross River, NY; and Paul E. Creedon of New Canaan, CT; as well as four nieces and nephews. His younger brother John F. Creedon died in 1963.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Aloysius Church on Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 Am.
Contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to Mid-Fairfield Hospice or to the Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital.
